After nearly 2 years on WordPress, we have decided to jump ship. This decision was harder to make than we had anticipated, as without realising or caring to admit, we had become very attached to this blog here.
Anyway, they say the best thing about life is leaving one’s comfort zone and venturing out to try something new. This is such an event.
Thanks to all the loyal readers who have been passing through and reading our content, it’s been extremely appreciated and we hope that you will be frequenting the new page as well.

Till next time. It’s been real!
Our weekend processions started out with Kat’s Birthday celebrations in Sandhurst. How cute are these cupcakes? Not your regular chocolate & red velvet cupcakes, these had marshmallow icing and were to die for!
Shambles clearly enjoying herself…
And finally, the moment I’d been waiting for: The Little Dragon performance. We pushed and shoved our way to the middle of the crowd amidst a stream of side-eyes. That was the least of my worries, as I was consumed by the excitement of seeing my favourite band live. And boy did they put on a show, amazing is an understatement!
Found this great pic of the boys on we-are-awesome.com check out more pics of the night here.
After finding out Little Dragon were doing another gig in Soweto on the Sunday, I thought it made sense to go and see them for the 2nd time. I’m still digesting the fact that I was able to catch my favourite band not once, but twice in 24 hours! If that isn’t luck, I don’t know what is. So Kutloano, Kamo and I rolled to Chaf Pozi. The first thing we did when we got there was order some grub. A bit of boerewors, steak and pap was just what the doctor ordered.
Kamo tucking in
DJ’s on the day, Kid Fonque & Jullian Gomes both played killer sets. My favourite house DJ’s + my favourite band = Best day EVER!!!!!!
As if the day couldn’t get any better. As i was minding my own business fetching my jacket out the car, I bumped into Chris Saunders taking some pics of Little Dragon. The groupie in me had to ask for a pic with the lovely Yukimi. She replied with an “Ok, sure!” Not only that, but she said she loved my sunglasses! I guess it’s safe to say that I was a tad ecstatic about that.
This was possibly one the best weekends I have ever had! If only I could do it all over again…
Ms Keys has ventured into a collaborative trainer collection with Reebok called The Reebok Freestyle Hi’s. Her range features embellishments, bursts of colour and prints which are fitting for the upcoming summer months.
Any thoughts?
Another awesome track from Zaki’s Every Opposite album, this time bringing us a fun, pop influenced video directed by Zandi Tisani. Great work from her loving this video definitely one to get us all in the mood for summer.
10pm We just got to OppiKoppi
We’d been there hardly an hour and I was already covered in dust.
My partner in crime Mkay, best person to have gone to Oppi with. A veteran in the camping game.
After driving around looking for a campsite for a good 2 hours, we finally found a spot. The only mission then being setting up camp in the dark. What a struggle! After all that the last thing I wanted to do was go out, so my first night was spent sleeping & prepping myself for the debaucherous times we had in store for us.
Day 2: Breakfast to start the day right. Lining those stomachs before going hard…
With MalumeKoolkat. Always the best times with him around.
The rest of the Joho crew
Not to forget these two lovely ladies, Akona and Pushie
And of course one of our besties, Chipo
340ml with Akona was the best! We pushed and shoved our way to the front for the best view.
My once white converse had now turned a shade of brown 😦
Day 3: On it early. Spotted this guy in a babatunde hat. Gin & Tonic o’ clock with my Chipo
Me.
The uphill stuggle to get to the Redbull stage, definitely worth it though as I spent most of my time there. It had the best DJ’s playing awesome music.
Pushie & I
Made my first fire too, and a mean BBQ that night.
OppiKoppi.
Sunset in Northam, dreaded this as soon as the sun disappears the cold creeps in. Pretty sure I’ve never had to deal with such cold temperatures before.
The night we all had been looking forward to. There was so much the excitement in the air with everyone heavily anticipating seeing Diplo.
Whooooooooo!!!
Funtimes with the girls
Chipo’s very clean Bensimon wellies from all the skanking.
The crowd going nuts & Diplo killing the stage.
Alastair a boy I met, who insisted on me taking a pic of his dirty converse.
Malume
KidFonque playing the final set on our last night. We stayed up till 4 to watch him play. Definitely one of my favourite DJ’s.
Best Weekend Ever! Roll on Oppikoppi 2013!
